FOODIE FASHIONISTA: HOLIDAY CITRUS

Hello, hello dear readers! Crissie of Chicasaurus-Rex here, bringing you another non-traditional holiday color palette. When my copy of J. Crew's holiday catalog arrived I fell in LOVE with this orange+teal+purple combo. Let's re-imagine it as a party-ready ensemble, shall we? (And, show up with this blood orange, honey-glazed tart in tow and you're sure to get an invite to every party next year...)

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: PARTY PINK!

Happy December Lovelies! (Yes, December, already...) Crissie from Chicasaurus-Rex here, and I am ready to ring in the holiday season, which means it's time to get ready for lots of holiday entertaining! To kick things off, how about starting with something a little nontraditional for this time of the year... color wise at least.

Bring on the pink! And if you plan to serve an ombre cake, like this pretty little thing (which I think you should) you'll also need a lovely pink ombre floral centerpiece. Clearly. Wear a girly polkadot dress and a pair of Mary-Janes to complete the party perfection!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: HAPPY PIE DAY

Hello readers! Crissie here - of the brand new blog Chicasaurus-Rex - and this week I am very excited because we are rapidly approaching my favorite holiday: Pie Day... err, excuse me... Thanksgiving. Digging through pictures of pies in search of the perfect recipe to finish this year's feast I discovered so many drool worthy color palettes... here are just a few of the pies that fell into my favorites, and the outtfit they inevitably inspired.

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: DELICATE DELIGHTS

Why hello dear readers! Crissie, from bug&Bear here with another lovely ensemble inspired by a tasty dish. This week I'm on a little bit of a health kick - and I'm obsessing over kale. Here's a super simple salad, that's elegant - with an edge, just like the outfit it inspired...

DROMEDARY DREAMS

Hello readers, Crissie here, from bug&Bear! How are we all enjoying our fall? I love the change of seasons -the brisk air, the chilly nights snuggled up in blankets - but I don't usually love the colors fall brings. It seems everyone becomes obsessed with orange - Halloween, pumpkins, leaves, pies, candy corn. So. Much. Orange. I've never really been a fan (maybe because I don't look good in the color...) until I spotted this little number at Anthropologie. Wowza - orange and pink and camels?! I love it. And how does one accessorize a bright orange camel dress you ask? With camel colored accessories, clearly!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: FROM THE RUNWAYS

Hello, hello! Crissie here with another installment of Foodie Fashionista. This week I'm looking to the runways in Milan where food and fashion collided in the Moschino Cheap and Chic Spring show.

One might think that I - being the Foodie Fashionista - would be all about this, but I'm not convinced. Sure, a few of the more subtle fruity prints are rather cute, but for the most part the farmer's market theme was just  little too literal for my taste....

However - I am loving the color palette (totally crush on green lately) so here's a little fall outfit inspired by the colors of Moschino Cheap and Chic, for those of us who don't feel like rocking a carrot on our heads...

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: TRAVEL BUG

Well hello again! It's Crissie (from bug&Bear), and lately it seems that I've been bitten by a bit of a travel bug. Maybe it's all the loveliness over on Pinterest or maybe just one too many episodes of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations... whatever the cause, I can't stop daydreaming about jet setting around the world.

So today's Foodie Fashionista is a literally a taste of my travel dreams... bon voyage!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: HOT + COLD

Hello readers, Crissie here, from bug&Bear! Welllll - it's that awkward time of year when all the shops (online and off) are filled with thrilling new looks for fall, but according to the thermometer it is still decidedly summer. What's a fashion forward girl to do? Wait patiently for the temps to drop before partaking in fabulous new fall trends? Never! Why not try my solution: layer on the fall looks - but snack on a cool summer treat to keep from overheating! The best of both worlds!

Tee: Givench, Trench: John Lewis, Necklace: Chan Luu, Skirt: Top Shop, Bag: Alexander McQueen, Shoes: 284

I'm loving the burgundy + hot pink combo for fall - layer in some neutrals (and some leopard - I'm totally having a leopard moment...) and what do you get? Fall perfection.

What fall trend are you dying to wear right now?

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: RASPBERRY LEMONADE

Well hello there readers! It's Crissie, back with another edition of Foodie Fashionista. This week I'm exploring a bright color palette of pinks and neon yellow inspired by the most refreshing combination of raspberry + lemonade. This fun, and girlish style is perfect for long summer days spent sipping raspberry lemonade and strolling along the boardwalk soaking up the sun...
What do you think - can you handle this packed-with-punch style?

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: HEART OF THE MATTER

Hello readers! Crissie here, from bug&Bear, to bring you the latest edition of Foodie Fashionista. This week I am drooling over artichokes.

Perhaps most known for their staring role in cheesy dips, the many health benefits of the tasty vegetable are often overlooked. Poor guys! Artichokes are full of fiber, potassium and vitamin c, but on top of that, they present such an attractive color palette perfect for inspiring a simple spring look with olives and creams, a hint of purple, and a splash of lemon. Perfect basics that - like the artichoke - are terribly underrated!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: SWEET CREAM

Hello dear readers, Crissie (from bug&Bear) here! It's been a hectic week, so today I'm here to remind you of the simple joys in life. The first warm sunny day of spring, a soft gentle breeze drifting through an open window, cool creamy desserts on the most humid of days, and classic colors that will absolutely never go out of style...

Sort of like sweet creamy neutrals and bright bold reds!

So simple, but so so perfect. Now, take a big, deep breath and pause (just for a second) to smile at the little things that make a big difference!

IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT WEDGE

Hello dear readers, Crissie here from bug&Bear! Over the past few seasons I've noticed a trend developing - the return of the wedge. And the chunky sandals have been speaking to me in a whole new way this spring, begging and pleading that I find the perfect pair, a little extra style when added to a short summer skirt or pair of wide legged jeans....
The only question - which wedge is right for me? Does it have a bit of attitude like a wedge of grapefruit? Maybe a it's a little bit sweet, or should I just stick with a classic?
Tangy: Color Composition Wedges via Anthropologie; Sweet: Nine West via Zappos; Classic: Luxury Rebel via Zappos

What do you think loves? Which wedge is right for you?

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: ON THE RED CARPET

Hello readers! Crissie from bug&Bear here, and I am thrilled that it is award season again, aren't you? I adore watching what the stars choose to wear down the red carpet - spotting the trends, gushing over the best dressed and ruthlessly mocking the worst.
The Golden Globes gave us a few lovely colors that thrilled me with their easy translation to the table. Gowns in gorgeous emerald greens and sweet, soft blushes mix wonderfully into a simple (yet unexpected!) shrimp soup....

What were your favorite gowns of the Globes?
