WRAP IT UP... IN CYNTHIA ROWLEY!

Cynthia Rowley is getting quite creative with a slightly new direction. The fashion designer is applying her favorite runway patterns to wrapping paper, available exclusively on One King's Lane, and I for one am in love!

The black is my absolute favorite and would go so well with my Christmas theme this year..

A SHOW OF OUR OWN: FALL AT NEIMANS

Soooo... it wasn't exactly fashion week, but the mini fall preview show I co-hosted a few weeks ago at the Bellevue Neiman Marcus was definitely just as fun, and such a great experience to be a part of, I figured it was high time to share some of it with you!

It's one thing to pull items for yourself or a photo shoot - it's another thing entirely to put together a cohesive show making sure to hit all the key trends! Luckily, my seasoned sidekick Rachel helped guide me along!

There was lots of mingling and nibbling to kick things off as we welcomed our guests...



And then there was the show!

Rachel and I had a blast introducing the girls, their looks, and otherwise being witty.

My favorite part of putting these looks together was having a chance to show the ladies how to combine high and low - like pairing a Chanel blouse with a Theory jacket and Elizabeth & James skirt (on the left). I also loved showing a wide variety of looks - going from super classic, to edgy, to weekend wear.

BRIZO, JASON WU AND NY FASHION WEEK...

I can't believe just one week ago I was getting ready to head to the Jason Wu show at Fashion Week. It's an experience people only dream of - to attend a show of such a high caliber that editors from every fashion magazine are perched in the front row alongside women you normally only see featured on the pages of The Sartorialist.

And why on earth, you might ask, was I there amongst the fashion elite? Good question. And the answer is...

Faucets. HUH? Yep, faucets (stay with me here). Brizo faucets to be exact. You see, they draw their inspiration from the fashion world just as many of us do. And because of that, they have been a steady sponsor of the amazingly talented Jason Wu for a number of years now. And because of that, they are currently designing what is (I assure you) a very gorgeous faucet and accessories line with the designer (and that's all I can say because I've been sworn to secrecy).

For the second year in a row, Brizo flew out a large group of us designers and bloggers to show off their goodies, let us in on their secret plans, and get our feedback on new prototypes (and you know how bloggers have an opinion on everything... let's just say it was a little crazy. They also broke us up into groups for a little design challenge that we presented to our judges...

Apparently I didn't do a good enough job of convincing them that our design was the BOMB. Perhaps it was just a little too predictable, but I gotta say, I could have lived in that bathroom.

But, I didn't really care because the best part of all this whirlwind was the fact that we got to go to the Jason Wu show, and yes, I pretty much thought I'd died and gone to heaven...

You know, just hangin' out with Hamish Bowles.

And socialites with the best wardrobes. And this gorgeous gal whose entire ensemble I was seriously coveting... (could I pleeeeeaaase get my hands on those miu miu heels?)

I think I have a promising career as a paparazzi, don't you?

Oh, and then there was THE SHOW.

These were some of my favorite looks...

The deep v neckline and flowing skirts just killed me. There was definitely a vintage undertone to the shape of the pieces, but such modern color, edgy accessories, and amazing detail (like the beaded collars!)

I have to give a huge thanks to the team at Brizo for sponsoring this trip and showing us a fabulous few days in the city. It was an experience to remember!

FRESH RIVIERA

The resort collection from Roksanda Ilincic has me wishing I were boating on the Riviera in the 30's...


Turban in full effect, of course! The simple combinations of color throughout the entire collection make it cohesive and wonderfully fresh...

Tangerine, acid mint green, navy and white. The only pattern was a hit of large-scale gingham here and there. Absolute perfection, and lovely little dresses...

Gena here from bambilulu with three of my favorite trends from the runway: tribal prints, chunky stripes and delicate lace. After seeing the J.Crew Fall RTW collection, I think it's safe to officially say that powder blue and rich burgundy are back too.

RACHEL ROY SPRING: BRIGHTS + NUDES + STRIPES

Rachel Roy's spring collection honestly might be my most favorite for her perfect mix of brights paired with plenty of nudes and touches of black + white... 

I adore the way she layered on the color for half the show, but also gave those of us who prefer more neutrals some beautiful choices as well...

The collection was well edited and incredibly cohesive, just they way a wardrobe should be. Can you imagine mixing and matching these pieces together all season long? Yes please!

FASHION WEEK: COLOR LOVE

Hi lovelies, Crissie from bug&Bear here to share with you one of my favorite parts of fashion week- color trends. I could (and do...) spend hours browsing the latest collections, looking for fabulous color combinations. Here are a few of my favorites so far for fall...

An almost calming mix of dusty rose and deep azure at Rebecca Taylor (top row), and rich grays and greens (with pops of red) at Steven Alan (bottom row). Plus- leopard print gloves? Fierce.

And, oh my, I can't get enough of orange and blue, it has such a fresh feel, and mixed with metallic pants? Perfection by Peter Som (top row). Jenni Kayne's collection (bottom row) delivers a stunning mix of mustard and turquoise that feels casual but still chic. Fall is shaping up to be a very colorful season!

LIVE FROM THE RUNWAY: TORY BURCH FALL 2011

As most of you know, it's fashion week in NYC, and this past Sunday I was beyond thrilled to attend Tory Burch's Fall RTW presentation on behalf of coco+kelley so I could bring you all the visual goodness to enjoy. Let's get on with the show!

Tory Burch showed an incredibly wearable interpretation of the 1970s trend for Fall. Flowing wide legged pants, ruffled blouses and a mix of plaids and prints made up the gorgeous collection. The line was rendered in pinks, reds and blues on a back drop of neutrals making the pieces entirely accessible. 

Tory's mix of knits, tweeds and leather paired with her flowing skirts and pants added a dramatic layers to the collection. The furry arm trend that's been spotted in a few fall collections made an appearance here as well. My favorite look - a shimmery metallic skirt paired with a baggy knit turtleneck was one part glamorous, one part cozy- the perfect fall equation.

GOING WITH THE FLOW(ING)

Last night I booked a one-way ticket to LA for the end of February... and now all I can think about is sunny beaches and what to wear to them!
I'm praying for a mini heatwave so I can pack all my favorite summer pieces...

But at the very least you can expect to see me in my favorite wide leg pants, and loose flowing tops, inspired by Catherine Malandrino's Spring 2011 collection...

Hmmm... maybe I should have booked a flight to Fiji instead?

PS, no, I'm not moving (again) down south... just keeping my options open as to when I shall return!
