Yesterday I showed you how my stylist Traci and I went through my closet to work with pieces I already had for my fashion week ensembles. But the truth is, sometimes you don't have all the pieces necessary for a fabulous outfit, and a little fall shopping was in order anyway, so we headed out to two of our favorite local boutiques - Totokaelo and Les Amis - for some original pieces to complete our list...

Totokaelo is a stunning little boutique with amazing accessories. Many of their clothes are a little more architectural and modern, which I thought would be great for the Jason Wu show, but they also have really beautiful casual wear.

Traci and I swept through the store pulling some soft t's to pair with my skirt and a few other fun options...

Excited to try things on! (Too bad we obviously have no fun together.)

For someone who is used to very structured, more vintage styling, the pieces at this store were a stretch for me - which was a good challenge to my style tastes! I tried on a few dresses that I really did love, but for a short girl with curves, they just weren't working. The t-shirts and heels, however, were perfect!

I totally ended up getting these Rachel Comey pumps. They're quite amazing.

I also drooled for a while over these ipad cases (which I would totally use as a clutch) and sunglasses before dragging myself away and on to the next store!
I had such fun playing with the clothes at Totokaelo, and their stylists were amazingly helpful too. And, I learned that you should never assume what works and what doesn't work on your body type - there were definitely a few pieces that I never would have pulled for myself, but was surprised to really like once I got them on. Moral of the story? Take your time and try on everything!
