My wonderful whirlwind of a trip to NYC has almost come to an end, and I'm so sad to leave this crazy, fabulous city, but I have so many incredible memories to share with you all now!
The whole experience was made possible by Brizo who has been the primary sponsor of fashion designer Jason Wu since 2006. Brizo flew a group of bloggers and designers in for fashion week to celebrate their partnership with designer - introducing us to their beautiful product line and topping things off with an invitation to Jason Wu's amazing show!
Of course, the first question when I received my invitation was...what to wear!? I've always felt fairly confident in my wardrobe choices, but I decided to call in an expert for this trip, and I thought it would be fun to share the process of working with a personal stylist with you all (have you ever used one??).
Naturally, a girl needs plenty of options when packing for such a stylish trip. I had day meetings, and cocktail parties, a fashion show, and a reception to attend. My stylist and friend, Traci Schlosser helped me pick through my closet for some perfect ensembles. We made a list of things we loved and things we needed to complete a few looks.
One of my favorite tops is this lace piece (it's from Forever21... shhhhhh), because it can be dressed up and down, making it an easy day-to-night choice. I ended up wearing it once during the day like this - jeans, earrings, and my new patent loafers - and much more styled up to the Jason Wu show (which I'll show you later!).
We both loved my sparkly skirts for another day to night option (can you tell I knew I wouldn't have much downtime?). We decided that the white skirt was our favorite of the two and took it with us when we went shopping to find a perfect slouchy t-shirt for it to work with.
My favorite outfit we put together was for Fashion's Night out! I had purchased this top at Anthropologie the day before and was thinking I'd just pair it with black skinnies. Traci expertly swapped out the black for a punch of color and I loved it! This was the one outfit that I didn't change a a single piece of once I got to NYC.
After about an hour of sifting through my closet, we packed up some pieces and headed out to my favorite shops to complete the looks (more on that in the next post!). It was wonderful have Traci push my boundaries and fall-back looks to a new level, creating a more eclectic style with pieces I already owned! What do you think about what we came up with so far?
