Laura here from The Daylight with a new series for coco+kelley that I hope you will love - exploring how to pick and style art in your home!
One of my favorite places to find creative inspiration is local neighborhood art walks, and when I saw Seattle artist Cassandria Blackmore's ethereal abstractions I was completely in love. Her works seem to glow from within, the shattered glass reflecting light beautifully in every direction. She paints her color washed compositions first on the glass, shatters them, then puts them back together piece by piece. And each in absolutely breathtaking palettes...
When it comes to choosing a piece of art for your space, the most important factor is finding a piece that speaks to you. Abstract work lends itself beautifully to endless interior possibilities, working with any style and a variety of palettes. As long as your palette works with the artwork (without matching it) you can go with any design your heart desires... let's try it, shall we?
When you keep the palette neutral, you can play with a variety of patterns and textures, and I love the way the gold accents create a sense of luxury.
Calling on all the elements, metallic and organic, this beachy look would be a fresh way to bring the outdoors in and the ocean to your dining space.
Lastly I love geometric lines and dramatic hues set against a vintage rug for an ecclectic look that feels like it could stand the test of time. While each space could hold on it's own, adding in a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork chosen by you makes the room completely unique. How would you style a Cassandria Blackmore originial??
